In recent years, TAKEMOTO Hirofumi has continued to create monochrome paintings based on the images of ukiyoe prints of Utamaro and Harunobu. The size of the works and the way they are displayed vary, but these paintings are displayed not only as a single point, but also as a group, and it seems to me that the feeling that comes from them is also important. It is fair to say that this exhibition is a continuation of that. The exhibition is called "An aesthetic questioning of modernity." The book directly stated the background of Takemoto's production.
