SASAKI Makoto and Satomi are producing Sekishu Kachiji Hanshi paper in Iwami, Shimane Prefecture. In the production of modern works, under the pretext of being original, it is considered important to have something that is not found elsewhere, but materials such as canvas and paint are ready-made products, and there is hardly any production from materials. However, they has been involved in everything from the cultivation of the raw material, mulberry trees, to the production of Japanese paper in the village of handmade Japanese paper since ancient times. This time, they clash opinions within the relationship as a couple, and they are creating something while complementing each other. We reconsider the concept of originality based on those experiences.
