work

YANAGIMOTO Akiko livelily brings out stories embedded in everyday life through colorful embroidery. Narratives told through embroideries made on transparent sheets incorporate the exhibition space and start to generate new stories. Recently, Yanagimoto has produced a piece of work conceived from sounds while collaborating with Manchester based collective “Kinokophone”, who collect and compose sounds, stories and imagery from around the world. This is the first solo exhibition in the Kansai region for YANAGIMOTO, who has mainly shown her work in Tokyo and the Netherlands.
